School used to be a bright spot in Tabby’s* life, but bullying about her appearance made school less enjoyable. Knowing that her CIS Site Coordinator’s door was always open, Tabby looked to Ms. Autumn for advice and affirmation.
During their time together, Ms. Autumn taught Tabby to believe in the power of her own voice and helped her build her self-esteem. Over time, these strategies encouraged her to rise above hurtful words and respond with confidence.
Tabby’s journey of empowerment is just beginning.
Today, Tabby beams with confidence, knowing that the opinions of others don’t define who she is–or who she’s destined to become. It’s reassuring to know that her CIS Site Coordinator is always close at hand, ready to offer a comforting word and a thoughtful strategy whenever she needs it.
Sometimes the tools that students need to succeed aren’t in their backpacks, but lie deep within themselves, just waiting to be discovered.
