Make a Gift, Transform a Life

Your generosity empowers students in your neighborhoods and communities to reach their goals in school – and beyond. Our goal is to expand our offerings to more students and more schools in Northwest Michigan, but we can’t do it alone. Your gift will help children surmount obstacles, access basic needs, and tap into a community of support devoted to their success.

To learn more about other giving opportunities available, please contact Amy Burk, Executive Director. Your donation is tax-deductible to the full extent of the law.

HELP CIS TO LEVEL THE PLAYING FIELD

We need your support today more than ever. With the ever-evolving needs of our students, due in large part to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and its long-lasting side effects, CIS Northwest Michigan is facing enormous demand for our services. We do not want to turn any school, or any student, away.

Your gift will make it possible for us to continue to serve our existing schools, while expanding to those asking for our help right now. Your generous gift will help us level the playing field in northwest Michigan schools, working toward real equity in education.

We cannot afford to waste this opportunity. With your help, we will ensure a brighter future for our region’s students.

Ways to Give

Cash

Make an outright gift or pledge your support over two to three years. Donations may be eligible for tax deductions. You can make a gift online, or send a check to 205 Grove Street, Mancelona, MI 49659.

Gifts of Stock

Stock, or other appreciated assets, can be donated and may qualify for a charitable tax deduction. If the stock has appreciated in value, you may avoid paying capital gains upon transferring it to CIS Northwest Michigan.

Qualified Contribution Distribution

Individuals who are 70 1⁄2 years old, or older, can donate a portion of their taxable IRA, up to a maximum of $100,000, to CIS directly, instead of taking their required minimum distributions.

"The ability to support kids when they are young and still figuring things out gives me so much purpose. It is an honor to help them sort through the things that seem small to adults but are massive to these young kids."
